Function description

A Business Controller is responsible for the financial reporting and contributes to the development of the controlling organisation to prepare it for Circet Infratechniek's strong growth.

A Business Controller has a broad and challenging range of tasks:

  • On the one hand, you analyse the profit and loss account and check the results against the budget. On the other hand, you interpret the balance sheet in detail (trade debtors/creditors, work in progress, etc.).
  • You carry out detailed margin analyses across the business units.
  • You develop cost controlling and cash flow analyses.
  • You have general responsibility for checking the accuracy of the figures. You work closely with Circet Benelux' accounting department.
  • In the field of Project controlling you determine and report on the progress of the works and the provision for 'work in progress'. You do this in very close cooperation with the operational teams.
  • You are responsible for the presentation and explanation of the periodic financial figures to the management.
  • You optimise and structure the management reporting (financial and operational) and the monthly closing process. 
  • You develop Power BI dashboards to support the various business units. You define and follow up the relevant KPIs to remain in line with the strategic objectives.
  • You actively think along on innovative IT solutions to support various business processes. You will structure and optimise the budgeting process, among other things. 
  • You offer support in the further development of the ERP system (Dynamics 365).
  • In the event of new potential projects, you support the management in its decision based on the profitability analyses you drew up.

Your profile

  • You have at least a master's in economics or business management.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar financial position. Experience at Big Four, within audit or financial due diligence, is a bonus.
  • You preferably already have experience with the financial follow-up of projects.
  • You have a far-reaching knowledge of Excel. Good knowledge of PowerPoint is definitely a bonus.
  • You have a strong affinity with IT or are highly motivated to gain more in-depth knowledge into the operation of IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics 365) in support of the business.
  • You have a good knowledge of Dutch, English and French.
  • You are stress resistant and able to bring or keep calm in unexpected circumstances. You are able to provide quality work under pressure and to create order in chaotic situations.
  • You are a team player. You work with others as a close-knit team. You contribute to a joint result, also if this is of no personal interest. You help colleagues and support them when necessary.
  • You make a positive contribution to the (work) atmosphere and have no problems accepting constructive criticism from team members.
