Function description

The Infratechnology Operations Director takes charge of the day-to-day operational activities of the various projects within the Infratechnology Business Unit and pursues an optimal organisation. In this role you report to the Chief Operations Officer Benelux.

Some of your versatile set of tasks

  • You determine the strategy, goals (KPIs) and budget. You look at both the short-term and medium-term goals. You act as a consultant for the management regarding your projects.
  • You follow up the P&L of the operational budget closely.
  • You coordinate and monitor the operational activities in accordance with the processes of the business unit/customer and or project agreements. You aspire to efficiency and if necessary you contribute to process optimisations and/or procedures.
  • Based on your operational role you are in contact with customers for potential new projects. You are also responsible for contract negotiations, in cooperation with the sales department.
  • You develop the further growth of the business unit and projects by hiring new people.
  • You follow up evolutions within the technical domain and see how they can contribute to an optimal organisation.
  • You seek constructive teamwork within your own team, but also with colleagues from other units. You are responsible for a team and as their coach you support their growth potential.

Your profile

  • You have a master diploma or equivalent through experience (e.g. bachelor) with a preference in electromechanics or in an engineering direction.
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in operations, people management & P&L. Experience as a business unit manager in an environment of utility lines, infrastructure and/or fiber works is a great strength.
  • You have a good track record of successful projects and considerable optimisations.
  • You are enterprising, take things in hand with a view to achieving results and actively think about solutions to problems.
  • You have very good people management skills: you communicate well and openly in 3 languages (Dutch-French-English), but you are also able to listen and pay attention to the proposals within your team.
  • You are a born leader, giving direction and changing your style depending on the needs come natural to you.
  • You have no problem building and maintaining professional relationships at the various levels of the organisation.
  • You are very flexible in terms of work location and working hours. You will have to travel regularly in Belgium (site visits).
